The transfer of David Luiz from Chelsea to Paris Saint Germain for a reported fee of 50 million pounds is widely believed to have been one of the best pieces of business ever conducted by the current Premier League leaders.
Luiz was rarely used in defence by Jose Mourinho during his last season at Chelsea and is considered by many to be a “Playstation footballer” not reliable enough for the very best.
After PSG’s 1-1 draw with Monaco, Luiz discussed his move from London to Paris: “I made many friends there, it was my choice to quit Chelsea because they offered me a renewed contract.
Luiz continud: “But I think the cycle had ended there, I was very happy, I won two European titles, but there are moments in life when the cycle ends. I made the right choice and I am very happy in Paris.”
Chelsea supporters and perhaps Jose Mourinho will be very amused by this.
As it stands, Luiz is set to join up with the Brazil squad for the mouthwatering clash with Argentina on Saturday in Beijing.
